Brief description of fishery:
School Pool is approximately 1.5 acres and has an average depth of 4’ it is connected to Morgan’s Pond but separated by a welded mesh fence in order to segregate fish species. It consists mostly of F1’s with individual fish to 7lb, skimmers to 2lb are plentiful and there are tench, roach, and Carp mostly under 10lb. The Pool is open all year round.

School pool is connected to Morgans and is situated on the outskirts of Newport Town centre just north of the M4 motorway less than a mile from Junction 26. This pool like Morgans sits adjacent to Woodstock pond and is separated by 50 metres and a bridge over a small brook. The pool has its own parking facilities but can be accessed via Woodstock.
Access & Parking
The car park can be found on the third turning left as you enter Bettws lane from Maplas Road, down a narrow tarmacked track found between the electricity substation and Malpas Cricket Club. 250 metres down the track you will find a locked gate and key access through this will take you to the car park that serves Morgans Pond and School Pool.
